About Merge Dance Theatre
Merge Dance Theatre is a youth contemporary dance company based at Promenade Dance Studio in Kedron, designed to bridge the gap between dance schools and professional companies. Rather than a standard studio timetable, it offers an immersive, season-based program where young dancers commit to challenging, explorative and technically demanding contemporary work.
The company is structured into clear tiers, with a Junior program for ages 9 to 11, an Intermediate stream for 12 to 14 year olds, and a Senior Company for dancers aged 14 and over with at least intermediate ballet. Members rehearse weekly toward an end-of-season production, with the experience built around choreography development, professional industry exposure and genuine performance opportunities. Programs are all-inclusive, covering training, costume hire, professional headshots and memorabilia.
Led by an experienced artistic team with credentials spanning QUT, NIDA and professional touring backgrounds, Merge suits ambitious young dancers who already have a technical foundation and want serious, mentored development. It is an ideal next step for those looking beyond recreational classes toward a professional pathway in contemporary dance.
