About Shodokan Aikido

Shodokan Aikido Sydney is a dedicated aikido club training in North Ryde, where the dojo is understood as the place of the way: somewhere students come to practise and refine their art. The club teaches the Shodokan style with a structured progression through the kyu grades, giving members a clear path as they develop their skills over time.

The instructors bring genuine depth to their teaching, having trained directly with Nariyama Shihan, and the club has built a reputation for being caring, welcoming and challenging in equal measure. Students describe an engaging, healthy and enjoyable environment where senior instructors blend easily with newcomers from all walks of life.

Aikido here is open to everyone, from aspiring martial artists to seasoned practitioners, and a dedicated kids program means younger students are catered for too. For North Ryde locals seeking a martial art that combines technique, discipline and a strong sense of community, Shodokan Aikido offers an inclusive club where all ages and abilities are made to feel at home.
