About The Salsa Foundation

The Salsa Foundation is a Melbourne CBD dance school that has been teaching Latin dance since 2008, and in that time more than 60,000 people have passed through its beginner classes. Operating from a studio on Little Collins Street, it has grown into one of the city's busiest dance communities, with over a thousand students attending each week. The emphasis is firmly on getting the fundamentals right before building toward more advanced movement.

Students consistently praise the welcoming, social atmosphere, where rotating partners and clear, patient instruction make even complete beginners feel comfortable on the floor. Reviewers describe the classes as a fun, high-energy way to move and get a workout in, with great music and an encouraging vibe that keeps people coming back week after week.

With structured progression through multiple levels in Salsa and Bachata, plus private lessons, wedding dance preparation and a regular social party, the studio suits anyone in Melbourne who wants to learn to dance, stay active and connect with a friendly community. Free beginner classes make it easy to simply turn up and try.
