About Capoeira Aruanda Canberra

Capoeira Aruanda brings the rhythm, movement and community of Afro-Brazilian capoeira to Braddon, in the heart of inner-north Canberra. Part of a wider Australian lineage of schools, the Canberra group carries on a tradition that blends martial arts, acrobatics, music and culture into one flowing, expressive practice.

Training here is welcoming to complete beginners as well as more experienced players, with sessions built around warm-ups, fundamentals and the call-and-response energy of the roda. It is as much about coordination, fitness and confidence as it is about kicks and escapes, making it a genuinely different way to move and connect.

With dedicated adult sessions and family-friendly classes for kids and adults together, the Braddon group suits anyone in Canberra looking for a supportive, culturally rich alternative to a conventional gym. No prior experience is needed to start.
