About judo1

Judo1 is a judo and grappling club serving the Port Kembla and wider Illawarra community, led by coaches with decades of mat experience and a genuine passion for the sport. Alongside traditional judo, the club explores Sambo, MMA and self-defence, giving members a broad and practical grounding in throws, groundwork and submissions.

Members describe judo as a great way to stay fit while learning self-defence techniques that build real confidence. The club is welcoming to children, adults and families alike, with dedicated junior groups as well as senior training, and even a program tailored to veterans.

Under experienced senior instructors, the focus is on technical development, fitness and a strong club culture where newcomers are made to feel at home. Whether you are a child taking your first lesson, an adult seeking a challenging and rewarding way to train, or someone wanting practical self-defence skills, Judo1 offers an encouraging environment in the heart of the south coast to learn and grow on the mat.
