About KJR-IJI JUJUTSU

KJR-IJI Jujutsu is one of Canberra's most established traditional Japanese martial arts clubs, training at the UC FitX Sport & Fitness centre on the University of Canberra campus in Bruce. The dojo specialises in Kokusai Jujutsu Ryu alongside the classical weapon arts of iaido, jodo and kobudo, offering a depth of authentic instruction that is rare in the region.

Training caters to children and adults of all levels, from first-time beginners through to senior black belts, within a structured and respectful environment. Students develop practical self-defence skills, body control and discipline while progressing through a recognised grading system. The club's lineage and long history in Canberra give it a strong sense of tradition and community.

It suits anyone seeking genuine traditional Japanese martial arts rather than a modern fitness fad: families, students and adults drawn to the focus, etiquette and lifelong learning that classical jujutsu and weapon arts provide. Twice-weekly evening sessions make it a manageable commitment for those balancing study or work.
