About UTAS Athletics Club

The UTAS Athletics Club is a community track and field club based around Sandy Bay, bringing together runners, jumpers and throwers under the simple banner of "Walk. Run. Jump. Throw. Together." Despite its university links, the club is open to the wider public and caters to athletes of every stage, from Little Athletics youngsters through to seniors and masters competitors aged thirty and over.

Members train across the full spectrum of athletics disciplines - sprints, distance and cross country running, jumps and throws - with pathways into interclub competition for those who want to test themselves. A coach development focus and equipment hire help newcomers find their feet, while more experienced athletes have the structure and community to keep improving.

With regional connections spanning southern, northern and north-west Tasmania, the club offers a welcoming, team-oriented home for anyone in the Sandy Bay area who wants to get fit through athletics. Whether you are chasing personal bests, returning to the track, or simply looking for an active, supportive crowd to train alongside, UTAS Athletics Club provides the framework to do it.
