About Dojo Wu
Dojo Wu is a traditional full-contact Kyokushin karate dojo with a training space at Our Tampines Hub, part of a wider Singapore network that includes branches in Bishan, Lavender and Orchard. Teaching since 2012 and affiliated with the renowned WKO Shinkyokushinkai organisation, it offers an authentic, hard-style martial art for people who want their training to test them.
Classes build the three classical pillars of the art: kihon (the fundamentals of body form and breathing), kata (memorised movement patterns for combat) and kumite (full-contact sparring). Separate sessions for children from age six and for teens and adults mean the dojo caters to a broad spread of students — reviewers note it draws people of various nationalities between the ages of six and sixty, and even a Kudo programme for those wanting more.
What members highlight most is the community and the calibre of coaching. One longtime student credits more than a decade of training under Sensei Jimmy and the team with building "a better fighter and person," while others point to the dojo's record of producing national champions and its strong kids' programme. For Tampines families and adults seeking serious, character-building martial arts, Dojo Wu is a respected home.
